Red Robin, Anyone?
So as I am looking for a venue for the Pop Art holiday dinner, I find myself perusing quite a few menus. Why is it the nicer the restaurant, the more words they use on the menu? And the less pictures there are! I don’t get it.
I am an “I want that” type of person. I see a picture of a fat juicy hamburger and my decision on what to eat is made.
With fine dining, the things on the menus already sound a bit suspicious so a picture might actually be to the restaurant’s benefit.
“Tacky,” you say, “to have a photo on your menu.” I say no! Customers would be more likely to order things they like and most likely will be more satisfied with their meals. Think about it: when you go to a new restaurant, don’t you usually scope out what people have on their plates? So you can then ask the waiter, “I want what she’s having.”
I find this to be why interactive marketing is so effective. What better then to not only give your customers a menu with pictures, but a dynamic and interactive menu, too.
And so Red Robin, I commend you! There’s no shame in your game. I appreciate the photo medley of foods. I might even one day order the onions rings, whose picture take up a full quarter of the whole menu!

You should have included a photo of the Red Robin menu in your post. ;)
