Using my iPhone at Starbucks Just Got Easier!

As an AT&T iPhone subscriber, I’m able to access AT&T WiFi hotspots nationwide at places such as Starbucks or Barnes & Noble with my iPhone for free. This is nice, as I can surf the web or check my email while I enjoy a latte at full broadband speeds versus waiting an eternity for pages to load over AT&T’s cellular network.

This perk has one annoying drawback though. Each time I access the Internet, I must do the following:

  1. Open up Safari and wait for the AT&T WiFi page to load.
  2. Enter my phone number into the page.
  3. Wait for a SMS message containing an access link.
  4. Click on the access link to gain access for 24 hours.

The setup user experience is less than ideal. All is not lost though, as a third party iPhone application has come to the rescue! DeviceScape recently released a new application called “Easy Wi-Fi” that automates AT&T WiFi login process. When you load the program for the first time, Easy Wi-Fi asks you your phone number. The next time that you’re in an AT&T hotspot, simply start the application and push the login button. Easy Wi-Fi is currently a free download from the iTunes App Store but will soon be $1.99. Do yourself a favor and download it now!
