Trimet Schedules on an iPhone

If you’re at all like me and ride Trimet into work, you have probably wondered how long you’re going to wait for the next bus or train to come after just missing a ride. Being an inpatient person, it would be great if I could view schedule information on my iPhone. Google has done a really nice job of integrating their main Google Maps site with Trimet’s Transit Tracker. But while there is a Google Maps application on my iPhone, Google has not done a very good job integrating public transit information yet.

While Trimet does offer a few mobile options, I recently discovered a website that displays Trimet schedule information where the user experience is optimized especially for the iPhone. The site even behaves identically to iPhone applications that one would download from the App Store! My favorite feature allows users to save favorite stops so that they may quickly pull up schedule information for a stop in the future.

Checkout trimet.onmyiphone.net and be sure to add it to your iPhone bookmarks.

  1. I created an iPhone web application that supports TriMet, http://www.transitly.com. It automatically remembers the routes you enter in. Drop me a line to let me know your thoughts – dwilson [at] liquidmongoose.com
