On Coworkers

I sent an email to the Creative Team suggesting an exchange program where a Development Team member would attend their team meeting. I ended by asking when and where their next team meeting would be. I got three replies. Ben Fogarty : "Hey Man... We're creative. We meet on a whim. Where the wind blows us. Our sails are filled with unicorn tears and our fists the thunder of zeus." Thom Schoenborn : "Midnight under the Burnside Bridge, west side, upon the ninth moon in the year of... Read More...

"I print out all my e-mails and tape them to the inside of my clothes. I know Levi and Justin use their iPhones to access e-mail outside work, but my clothes come with me everywhere, and they don't set off airport alarms. I have a DD hat, a Freightliner jacket, a Leatherman belt, and a Screaming Circuits beanie. It works for me." -- Dave, responding to a discussion about email sorting methods Read More...

SelecTrucks We're nearing the end of the SelecTrucks project, and only launched one site this month: Tampa . I really like the water in the design, with the little diver swimming through. Pop Art sent me to the conference along with my fellow CSS-man, Ryan, and we had a great time. I went all nerdly-fanboy and got my photo taken with Zeldman and Meyer, and I introduced... Dave: I can't get any email. Ryan: [sarcastic] It's probably because you're using a mac. Andrew: [singing, falsetto] You know it's hard out here for a mac... Read More...

Yesterday I left work early because I wasn't feeling well. I sent out this email: I'm heading home early - something I ate isn't agreeing with me. One of my coworkers responded with this: Scott, "I think the French are a sophisticated culture." Sandwich, "You are wrong. The French degrade the very foundations of democracy the modern world is striving to achieve." Scott, "That seems like a very obtuse statement." Sandwich, "Think what you want, traitor...
